Liberty Church of Tribeca launched the beginning of their new women’s group, Liberty Sisterhood on Thursday September 29th. The evening consisted of fellowship, food, fun and a message from Pastor Andi Andrew.
Inspired by Micah 5:1, the Liberty Sisterhood is an opportunity to be “grateful that countless women have gone before us and paved some serious ground so that we can rise up and take our place now in this great city,” according to Liberty’s website.
The sisterhood has plans to meet four times a year, although the official meeting dates have not yet been coordinated. In addition to empowering the women in their church community, the sisterhood is also seeking to reach out to other women. One way they’re doing that is by accepting donations for a local women’s charity called Women in Need or “WIN.”
According to Pastor Andi the goal for Liberty Sisterhood is to “gather the women and really encourage them and minister to them, as well as to reach out to the city and strive to make a difference.”
The events of the evening proved a success with a great turnout, lots of laughter, worship and many donations for WIN. Liberty Sisterhood member, Sarah Doyal said she loves that “it isn’t like a typical women’s meeting, Andi is a great speaker and it was really a blessing to be there.”
